I’ve been wanting to eat here for a while now and got the opportunity to last night. It’s currently got an off vibe to it. They are going through a name change so it’s not visible to the outside anymore but some clarity on what the name is now would be nice. It took us a good while to be seen to and when our food arrived we didn’t get the drinks until we asked again. The female staff were all incredible however and they made us feel welcomed. The seafood boil was nice however the crab was slightly overcooked and my partners chicken burger was dry. I’d recommend coming here possibly once everywhere is sorted under the new name but until then, give it a miss.

did the booking staff were coordinative one of the best sea food as just how they say addictive i have been as well as i have been their for several times: the serve was bit late but worth to wait recently has stop uber and just eats only dine in available or pick up.

One of worst experiences really Have been sitting for 70 mins . everyone has got their food except us. No manager to speak with and no solutions. Just ruined the weekend.

Thought we were going to our regular "Jimmy's" but on arrival we noted a name change to "Gimmy Prawns". The layout, decor was still the same so assumed it was just an issue with the name. Brother was I wrong. The recipe for the usual platter we ordered was tweaked and not in a good way. The prawns were all hard to peal as the shell had stuck to the flesh. This meant some of the flesh ended in the bin. We also ordered the "18 Saucy Prawns". They tweaked that recipe too and once again the shell sticking to the flesh issue. The service was also dreadful. Never saw the waiter once the order was taken and prawns arrived. Bin's weren't emptied or replaced nor were the sauces (these were different too btw). Overall. one dreadful ecperience and will not be going to "Gimmy prawns" again. Having checked online after we got back I note that the original "Jimmy's killer prawns" are opening at another location in Leicester quite soon.

I went to Jimmy's Killer Prawns in Manchester 3 days before and had the best meal and since I enjoyed it so much and I was passing by Leicester I decided to have some more prawns. The Google Maps had the name down as 'Gimmy Prawns' and the outside of the building from the road did not have clear signage or branding for Jimmy's Killer Prawns, so was a bit unsure before entering and the menu in the restaurant were photocopies of the original menu which seemed strange. Perhaps they are rebranding or lost the franchise? But besides that, the food came out fast and was tasty, but in contrast to the Manchester location most of the prawns were overcooked this time and were difficult to remove from the shells.

My wife and I drove from Derby to Leicester specifically to dine here, relying on the **Apple Maps listing stating they open at 12 noon**. We arrived at 12:40 PM, sat inside, and were abruptly informed by kitchen staff that they "open at 1 PM." Fine – we agreed to wait the extra 20 minutes. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, another staff member glared at us and **demanded we leave the premises immediately**, even as we explained we’d wait quietly indoors (it was freezing outside!). When we politely asked to speak to the manager, he stormed over, shouted at us to get out, and showed **zero empathy or professionalism**. This establishment has **no respect for customers** who make an effort to visit. The staff’s hostility, the manager’s appalling behavior, and the lack of basic courtesy (not even a “sorry” for the opening time mix-up!) left us humiliated and furious. **Save your time and money** – this place values arrogance over service. We’ll never return, and neither should you.

ok we traveled from leeds as we was going london thought we stop over OMG OVER COOKED CHIPS MUSHY PRAWNS with zero FLAVOUR this place is disgusting its not jimmy any more its under different management . i had to delet my old review which was 4 stars AVOID save ur money

I tried a seafood boil for the first time, and it was amazing! The flavors were spot on—super tasty and spicy, with the garlic butter sauce being an absolute standout. The portion size was generous, and one platter was more than enough for me. I’m also excited to hear they’ve recently opened a branch in Birmingham. I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

Pretty disappointed in this place. Service was pretty terrible, the waiter kept glancing at his watch when we were trying to choose an alternative when apparently bottled water was out of stock. Food was ok, nothing special. Definitely not worth the hype. Unfortunately the 3 of us who dined that evening all fell unwell with stomach cramps so I would definitely question the freshness/storage of the prawns.

Great seafood, no doubt. But worst possible chicken! Limited parking. Good staff and atmosphere. We will come back but will definitely not order anything other than fish here.
